I saw an interview this morning on TV that made me recall a book I had read some time ago--Two Kisses for Maddy--A Memoir of Loss and Love.  Only 27 hours after giving birth, Liz Logelin died of a pulmonary embolism, leaving her husband, Matt, to raise their daughter on his own.  Maddy is now four years old and, since his wife's death, Matt has turned his grief into a blog, and then a foundation (the Liz Logelin Foundation) to help other widowed parents.  The foundation's goal is to financially assist these families as they deal with the loss of their loved ones and struggle to move forward.  Read the book, written by Matthew Logelin, and then look for his blog and foundation information on the Internet. ...
During the month of April I had the honor of doing three pre-school visits.  The children, teachers, and parents were from the First United Methodist Church Pre-school.  I had so much fun talking with the children and answering their questions.  We did a short tour and we also talked a little about the upcoming Summer Reading Program at the library this summer.
Enjoying the Library Local patrons spend time relaxing and reading at the Odessa branch. The Lehman family takes time out of their schedule to do a some reading in the children's area.
