Early Out Fun!

If you’ve noticed an influx of “Early Out” programs at your library, it’s for good reason! School districts in Johnson and Lafayette Counties have begun monthly, and sometimes weekly, early release days for students. Our branches are excited to welcome students during these early outs with programming that will let them stay engaged while providing entertainment and leisure in a safe space.

The Corder Branch will offer an Early Out Hang Out each Wednesday in September and October at 3:00 p.m. for Pre-Teens and Teens. The program will focus on exploring maps and navigation, clocks, technology, and more! A snack will also be provided. Contact the library for more information at 660-394-2565.

The Concordia Branch will offer an Unleash Yourself Escape Room on Wednesday, October 11 at 2:30 p.m. Teens will get the chance to solve puzzles, cast unlocking spells, and test their mind, might, and magic in this Muggle-friendly program. Contact the library for more information at 660-463-2277.

The Odessa Branch will have an Early Out Game Day on Thursday, October 19 at 12:30 p.m. Children ages 5-12 are invited to enjoy video games and other activities in a relaxed environment. Additionally, the branch will have free-play video gaming available certain days after school for children and teens; simply ask a staff member for availability and assistance.
