The community is invited to the Holden branch of Trails Regional Library to “get the scoop” on the upcoming eclipse of the century, the “Great American Solar Eclipse,” which is coming on August 21.  Dr. Steve House will conduct the program on Tuesday, August 1st at 5:30.  Learn exactly why this event is so unusual and precisely what is happening in the sky to make the stars come out at midday, the temperature drop possibly more than 20 degrees and the chickens go to roost.  The first 50 participants will receive a free pair of viewing glasses.  Register at the library or call 816-732-4545.
Join us as a naturalist from The Knob Noster State Park discusses our furry park residents and also shows us some skins and pelts! Ages 6 and up preferred.
Dan Cowell is bringing his Animal Wonders back to the Holden branch on Tuesday, July 25th at 10:00.  All school-age children (and parents) are invited.  Dan always shares very interesting information and it is a very educational program.
